Virtual Assistant
(Part Time, Contract)

Room to Discover is a teacher-led startup that is redefining professional learning for educators. We believe that both students and teachers deserve high-quality, interactive learning experiences. Our workshops, coaching, and resources help educators increase engagement, achievement, and deep learning.

We are currently seeking a part-time virtual assistant to assist with managing appointments and communication. 

Fluency with GSuite is essential, especially GCal, GMail, Drive, and Sheets. Some experience with WordPress, MailChimp, and/or HootSuite is beneficial, but we will provide training for the right candidate.

Qualifications

The right candidate for this position is organized, dependable, and experienced with technology tools required for working remotely. Some background in digital marketing is preferable. Experience in education is a plus.

Required Qualifications

  • Consistent, dependable, able to work independently
  • Experienced with Zoom and Google Meet videoconferencing
  • Fluent in Google Suite: Calendar, Gmail, Drive, Slides, etc
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with digital marketing tools (WordPress, MailChimp, and/or HootSuite)
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience with customer service
  • Prior experience as a virtual assistant

Responsibilities

The virtual assistant handles a range of lightly technical tasks to support the organization and productivity of other team members.

All work is remote, and most hours can be scheduled flexibly. However, you should have some availability during school hours at least 3 days per week (including either Friday, Monday, or both). Complimentary access to online learning experiences and Room to Discover resources for the duration of the contract.

  • Create and Confirm Google Calendar Events
  • Handle incoming sales and customer service requests, or refer to the appropriate person
  • Update website, email newsletter, and social media accounts
  • Organize product information and marketing content using spreadsheets
  • Additional tasks as needed
  • Support Room to Discover’s mission and exhibit company values throughout all work experiences

Compensation

The virtual assistant works 5-15 hours per week as an independent contractor (1099). Hourly rate of $15-$20. 

Potential for increase in weekly hours and hourly rate following 3 months of consistently exceptional work. Potential for equity agreement following 1 year of consistently exceptional work.
